Atom Probe Tomography: The Latest Technology and Applications
OCTOBER 4
3 - 5 PM
Online or in-person
Come see what Atom Probe Tomography techniques are available to you through the Center for Advanced Energy Studies and Idaho National Laboratory.
Robert Ulfig, Senior Product Manager, Atom Probe Tomography (APT) at CAMECA will give a seminar at CAES on October 4 at 3 p.m. Rob's presentation will introduce CAMECA SIMS/EPMA and APT products including the latest advances the 6000 APT products enable, and review the cutting-edge technology, applications and typical 3D nanoscale data analysis techniques.
The seminar will include an overview of APT applications in materials science, metals and alloys, geology, nuclear science, batteries, fuel cells, and more. Rob will highlight technological advances that have enabled analysis of material systems and structures far beyond the early limitations of APT to simple grain boundary analysis of bulk metals. Advances in atom probe hardware and software, along with focused ion beam-based specimen preparation methods, have made site-specific analyses routine.
The event will include a Q&A on using CAMECA microscopes for specific applications. Please bring your questions.
CAES has a CAMECA LEAP® 4000 and the INL Multiple Fuels Complex has a CAMECA LEAP® 5000 available for research projects.
CAES is located at :
