This webinar will discuss the typical process that happens with purchasing an atom probe microscope. We will discuss the motivation, the ability to get funding, the process of working with CAMECA, deciding what configuration you need, options, accessories and consumables as well as what happens when the crates show up on your loading dock and what you should have done before that happens. We will present best practices, equipment, and personnel you will need as well as common pitfalls that can complicate the whole process.

About the presenters:


Robert Ulfig

Robert Ulfig joined Imago (Now CAMECA Instruments Inc.) in 2001 and has worked in hardware, software, and application development for the Local Electrode Atom Probe Microscope (LEAP®). He now works as a Senior Product Manager, integrating the activities and requests from internal and external customers into the latest and greatest of CAMECA’s software and hardware. Robert previously worked at Advanced Micro Devices’ sub-micron development center in Sunnyvale CA and graduated from The University of Wisconsin-Madison with Materials Science and Engineering and Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics degrees.

Katherine Rice
Dr. Katherine Rice is an Applications Manager with Cameca Instruments in Madison, WI. She received her PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado-Boulder and completed an NRC postdoc at NIST-Boulder. Her research interests include transmission EBSD, nanoparticle synthesis, and atom probe tomography.
